Tuno Oversized Clock for IKEA
The Tuno clock was designed for the IKEA PS collection 2001.
IKEA PS is a recurring collection of innovative design, created as IKEA’s effort to strengthen its identity as a design company and manifest Scandinavian simplicity. The 2001 edition was the third installment in the series, following collections in 1995 and 1998.
Multi-functionality was the key concept, with the theme “Bring the inside out. Bring the outside in.”
Eighteen designers created the collection of summer furniture and design products for what IKEA called “Inside/Outside”. A space where the boundaries between indoors and outdoors are erased. It was conceived as a space for relaxing, between dreams and reality, a personal oasis. Botanical forms of nature and materials like rattan, plastic, and metal played a central role.
